GEORG JENSEN JEWELLERY - PRIVATE COLLECTION
Welcome to one of the World’s most extensive private collections of Vintage and Antique Georg Jensen jewellery. This collection revolves around Georg Jensen’s own jewellery designs and follows the evolution of his design from opening his first workshop in 1904 until his death in 1935. Jensen’s designs feature an extravagant use of natural motifs and are very decorative in expression, the results are dumbfounding in their beauty. This collection not only focuses on early Jensen design but also on the earliest possible production, each piece is in original condition and has been personally appraised by us.
About the collection – GEORG JENSEN JEWELLERY PRIVATE COLLECTION
It all began in 1999 as I was on a plane on my way home from a journey abroad. I was reading an article about a sale of a magnificent collection of vintage jewellery, made by the famous Danish silversmith Georg Jensen, which was about to be sold in London. I felt very sad and decided to contact the auction house.
When I arrived in Paris I was informed that 27 pieces out of a collection of 107 had already been sold. However, I was able to purchase the last 80 pieces. And from then on I became totally passionate about this beautiful jewellery and started expanding my collection every time I had the chance to get hold of a new piece. Today my collection approaches 400 references and includes rings, brooches, bracelets, buckles, earrings, pendants, chains, hair combs, etc., which of course all are vintage.
In order to classify this beautiful treasure we have created an identity card for each jewellery piece specifying: number identified in the collection, category, design, gemstone and year / period of production.
According to experts, this is the most important collection of Georg Jensen vintage jewellery in the world. Therefore my wife and I wanted to share this magnificent collection with other Georg Jensen lovers and decided to make a website where people could admire the jewellery in detail.
Benjamin Petit, a very good friend of mine who is working in New York as a photographer has immortalized each Jewellery piece shown in his photographs on this website specially made by Helle Melot Moldow, Danish passionate about these beauties from another time. Last but not least, with the approval of Gregory Pepin, Manager Director of Georg Jensen Silver, we have obtained the right to use the name of the artist to present this outstanding collection.
